So... we can paint on top of the model layers like in photoshop but in real time... right ?
What about the UVs?

I've seen people doing things like that in Mudbox and ZBrush... any interesting difference ?

Good questions Franco and thanks for the links.

It looks like they plan to give Mudbox and ZBrush a run for their money.  Seems like it's focus is on handling extremely high resolution/polygon models for insane VFX extravaganzas.

Not sure of it's UV tools...  Technically UV's aren't as big of a deal to have perfectly layed out if you plan to keep the entire pipeline within a 3D Paint/Sculpting environment.  Perhaps an Automatic unwrap would do the trick just fine?

Anyone else hear anything?

I think they are going to have to offer something unique now that Mudbox is so tightly integrated with the Autodesk tools.

What's interesting is that the Foundry (NUKE) is behind them.  Maybe in the future Nuke could have some of that technology merged into it?  Realtime (or fast) rendering of extremely high resolution 3D within Nuke?  Could be amazing!
