Senior Recruiter needed at Sony Pictures Imageworks Vancouver

Job Summary:

Performs staffing activities in functional areas of employment and recruitment for SPI Vancouver. Participates in the development and execution of recruiting programs with an emphasis on 3D Artist roles, 2D Artist roles, and CG Technical roles.
Implements activities that generally impact important components / processes of work of own unit / team. Typically assigned to important / complicated undertakings.

Primary Responsibilities:
·Working with assigned managers and departments, reviews hiring needs and develops and manages appropriate recruitment strategies and processes to identify talented 3D Artists, 2D Artists, and Technical talent.
·Establishes sourcing strategies to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with key industry talent.
·Reviews demo reels and resumes to ascertain candidates’ skills for qualification.
·Schedules, facilitates, and participates in all interviews. Ensures compliance with state and federal employment laws and practices during the recruitment process.
·Responsible for maintaining and updating candidate database.
·Coordinates, participates, and represents recruiting efforts at major conferences, schools and at professional organization events.
·Develops and manages special projects as needed or assigned.
·Develops relationships with colleges and universities and maintains contact with key faculty and administrators.
·Ensures that best practices relating to database management, hiring procedures, and maintenance of files, resumes, reels and portfolios are conducted.
·Must have working knowledge of artist roles within CG Animated and Visual Effects studio environment and knowledge of their relative skillsets, particularly in Canada.
·Must have working knowledge of cgi production pipelines, processes and some familiarity with names of software and their relative application.
·Must be familiar with the animation and visual effects industry: Major vfx & animation studios, where they’re located, what type of work they do; familiarity with the artist community: who, what and where.
·Must be familiar with Canadian Federal and Provincial Employment Standards and applicable labor laws
·Knowledge of artist compensation helpful
·Exemplify diplomacy and flexibility in stressful situations.
·Requires excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
·Excellent communication skills - both written and oral with clear attention to detail
·Strong negotiating skills in making offers of employment.
·Excellent interpersonal skills.
·Experience with database management a requirement
·Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
·Capable of handling a high volume of activity with accuracy.
·Ability to travel domestically and internationally about 10%-20% of the time.
·Ability to deal with ambiguity
·Ability to work and communicate effectively with artists, producers, Artist Managers
