Title: after effects error problem
Post by: Dragoby on February 02, 2010, 11:06:07 PM
hey ive got after effects CS3 and am having isues with it right now, whenever I try to export the video as a quicktime movie I get an error message saying "after effects cant continue: sorry, after effects has crashed.  see (link) for know issues.  If you still can't resolve the issue, please contact adobe technical support (2).  (0::42)" and the link provided doesnt help because it deals with CS4.

if anyone has anything that could help me with this issue it would be greatly apreciated :).

I found that After Effects had quite a bit of trouble with some Quicktime codecs.

It could also be related to how 64 bit Vista doesn't play nicely with Quicktime.  Apple won't release a proper 64 bit compatible version for PC...  (Dirty pool!)

If you render without any compression (Set codec to "None") does it still crash?

If not, you could then turn to a third party application like Sorrenson Squeeze or Quicktime Pro (on XP).

You could also try upgrading to CS4 to see if that solves your problem.

Let me know how it goes.

I have tried putting the compression type to none and that didn't fix the problem.  The thing is that it was working a while ago and it was just recently that it stopped working so I don't think it is the 64 bit that is the problem but I guess it could have been a windows update.  I bet its them gremlins  :P

Did you install any new players or codec packs lately?  Sometimes that can cause problems...

What about installing K-Lite again?
