From the VSFF Website:

Final Volunteer call: We are looking for a few more volunteers to help with set up and screening shifts between 1-5pm on both Thursday and Friday. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Alana Hittrich at volunteer (at) vsff.com if you are able to volunteer.

A few more teasers:

    * We are expecting a surprise “Special Guest” to be at the festival – this is so top secret, most of our staff do not even know who it is!
    * We are partnering with the National Film Board of Canada to bring you a FREE screening of their New Release Program on October 28th, International Animation Day.
    * Our panel this year is entitled “Using animation in your short film” (also on International Animation Day) and will feature a discussion with some of our top animators: Mario Pochat, Emilie Goulet, Martin Rose, and moderator Jeff Chiba Stearns.
    * We bring back World’s Best Shorts to show you some of the world’s top award-winning shorts from the British Academy Awards, Tribeca Film Festival, CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival, Palm Springs Short Film Festival, and the Cannes Film Festival, among others.
    * See the best of BC’s Emerging Filmmakers from film schools across BC, and professional artists right in our backyard.
    * It’s our fifth year – since we started as the Vancouver Student Film Festival in 2005, we’ve overcome some amazing feats and ’student film’ stereotypes. Be sure to join us in celebrating our fifth birthday with a special retrospective screening of our top shorts since 2005, and the best two from 2010 as voted by our judges.

Be sure to book your calendars off for October 28 & 29!
