Roto/Paint Reel

I found this reel online and thought I'd post it as it is a good example of a Roto/Paint Reel.

Roto/Paint is a common entry level gig for most Compositors at larger studios. Anyone considering breaking into the industry directly into a larger shop as a Compositor might want to consider building a reel (perhaps a secondary reel?) like this.

Rotoscope Artist

Rotoscope Artists work closely with the Compositors to integrate all layers and elements into a seamless visual effect shot. Rotoscope Artists assist the Compositors by producing mattes and preparing plates.
Needs To Do

   * Depending on experience and show requirements, Rotoscope Artists are expected to :
   * Produce garbagemattes and accurate articulate mattes by using in-house roto software
   * Remove rigs and wires using Shake and other Paint software
   * Prepare plates for the Compositors by dustbusting and scratch removal

Needs To Know

   * A working knowledge of Roto/Compositing package would be an advantage
   * An interest in Photography and digital manipulation would be an advantage

Needs To Be

   * Pro-active
   * A good artistic talent with a knowledge of composition and colour
   * A strong eye for detail and precision
   * Able to work under pressure amongst a large team
   * Able to take direction and feedback well from Compositors and Supervisors

Measures of Performance

   * Quality and precision of roto mattes and paint work
   * On time delivery
   * Continuous improvement and knowledge of 2D work flow and techniques
