3vis , in collaboration with Autodesk, Craft Animation and SevenGroup, are hosting a great event on March 3 rd in Vancouver geared towards the local 3D community. It is very similar to some successful events that we have already run in Toronto and Montreal. This will basically be a user group that has the exclusive participation of Duncan Brinsmead, who is the Autodesk Maya principal scientist. and the creator of Maya® Paint Effects, Maya® Hair and Maya® Toon. Duncan also worked extensively on other major features such as Maya® Fluids and Maya® nCloth. Duncan will be demonstrating and speaking about and his work in R&D developing new 3D technology. The event will also feature Louis Marcoux, a Solution Specialist in 3D animation and Visual Effects who will discuss and demonstrate the newest features of Autodesk® Maya®, Autodesk® 3ds Max® (including the new plug-in CAT) and Autodesk® Mudbox. We will also have a Q&A session at the end of Duncan and Louis's presentations. There will be some time afterwards
to network and mingle with the presenters and attendees.
It would be great if you could come. Feel free to forward the invite and information to the artists and staff at your facility. I have included a jpeg of the official invite. It'll be a pretty cool presentation, along with lots of food, prizes and drinks, and we'd certainly like to see as many people out as possible as this is our first event in Vancouver. We do ask that people RSVP (

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.
